Salary:£25,769 - £28,143per annum, depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.

Contract Status:This post will be offered on a fixed-term contract for 1 year

Hours of Work:Full-time(36.25 hours per week)

Location:Jubilee Campus

Reporting to:Dr PhilQuinlan, Dr Grazziela Figueredo

Purpose of the New Role:

The purpose of this role is to provide a recent graduate with a opportunity to develop into a full data analyst within ADAC. The applicant will be expected to work on a wide-range of internal and external stakeholders. This will include working on projects of national importance and commercially sensitive contracts.

Main Responsibilities / % time per year
1. / Provision of data analytical services for research and commercial projects / 60%
2. / Self-learning on new analytical techniques / 30%
3. / Dissemination results in a variety of forms / 5%
4. / Seek opportunities for new funding and/or projects to be undertaken by ADAC / 5%
5. / Any other duties appropriate to the grade and role.

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience

Essential / Desirable
Qualifications/ Education /
  • Degreein computer science or relevant subjects.

  • Accreditation in software development and/or database technologies.

Skills/Training /
  • Developing code in Matlab, and/or Python and/or C++ and/or Java and/or R.
  • Knowledge of different database technologies
  • Recognition of the importance oforganisational, collaborative, and communication skills for dissemination of results.
/
  • Understanding and experience in the commercial sector.
  • Understanding of statistical research methods and statistical analysis skills.

Experience /
  • Experience in data handling best practices
/
  • Experience in working in a service-orientated group.
