Business Development Manager – Informa | Knowledge & Networking | Global Finance

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a sales professional to join Informa’s finance division as a business development manager in our Risk and Infrastructure portfolio. The main aim of the role will be to work across approx. 4 international industry leading events to provide sponsorship, branding, networking and exhibition solutions to companies in the Financial Industry. Informa run events across the globe and the successful candidate can expect to travel to their own conferences, client road trips and to visit competitive trade shows.

Experience

The role would suit someone with 2-3 years of Sponsorship sales experience who is used to selling to both current and prospective clients in a target driven environment. Knowledge of the events and/or financial industry would be preferable but not a prerequisite.

Key Responsibilities:

·  To manage a set of accounts and develop new business opportunities to sell across the banking & payments portfolio of events.

·  You will be required to work from a target list as well as source leads and contact prospects with the purpose of building relationships with senior executives in order to promote the portfolio’s events.

·  Develop a consultative sales approach to advise prospects on the best involvement based on individual needs.

·  Establishandbuild solid working relationshipswith internal teams, helping you to fullyunderstand clients' needs as well as the market.

·  Workclosely with other departmentsto produce high qualitymaterials necessary for compelling client pitches anddemonstrations

Core job functions & responsibilities include:

·  Develop and qualify strategic selling opportunities within assigned target list as well as personally sourced new business opportunities.

·  Establish/define buying objectives and requirements with senior level prospects.

·  Collaborate effectively with otherdepartments.

·  Develop proposals and contracts as required within the sales process.

·  Update the'Salesforce' database and maintain it at all times.

·  Build, maintain, and accurately forecast a solid pipeline of opportunities to the business development director

·  Successfully win business that meets or exceeds quarterly/annualtargetguidelines.

·  Meet or exceed all sales activity metrics put in place by the business development director.

·  To gain and maintain a thorough understanding Informa Finance’s product base and be able to sell it at the highest levels.

·  Maintain a solid knowledge of the industry in which you work and an awareness of factors that may affect your business

·  Plan your working day effectively to maximise output and plot out a route to personal targets.

·  Build and maintain information on our competitors

·  Travel requiredwhen approved by sales management.

Skills & Experience:

The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated professional who thrives in a fast-paced, quota-driven environment who possesses:

Essential

·  Minimum 2-3 years of SpEx sales experience preferably with some experience of face to face client engagement

·  Demonstrable experience ofB2B outbound sales

·  Strong computer proficiency, especially MS Office

·  Excellent oral,writtencommunications& presentation skills.

Desirable

·  Experience in event sales/financial industry

·  Degree education desirable but not essential
