The SME Centre @ Singapore Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SMECentre@SICCI) was set up in 2008 as an initiative of SPRING Singapore and offers advisory services to Singapore based enterprises at no charge. During this event, SMECentre@SICCI will be sharing on Government Assistance programmes such as the Innovation & Capability Voucher (ICV), Productivity and Innovation Credit (PIC) and the Capability Development Grant (CDG). These schemes will allow SMEs to seek support in their efforts to enhance their HR capabilities so as to better attract, develop, upgrade, and retain their human capital for sustainable business growth.
Following which, the Singapore National Employers Federation (SNEF) will introduce the P-Max Place-and-Train Programme which aims to facilitate the entry of PMEs into suitable SME jobs and help SMEs better cope with the challenges of talent recruitment in an increasingly tight labour market.
Under P-Max, participating SMEs and PMEs will benefit in the following ways,
  • Job-seeking PMEs will be screened and matched into suitable positions in hiring SMEs,
  • Training of management staff, supervisors, HR representatives from the SMEs and their newly-hired PMEs,
  • Post-training follow-up with the newly-trained PME personnel and their SME representatives for a period of six months, and
  • One-time Assistance Grant of $5,000 for SMEs who successfully retain their newly-hired PMEs for six months.
