Where can we search for jobs?
Ask all the young people to each identify a place/way to search for jobs, list them on one piece of flipchart that everyone can see. Discuss and put a star next to all of the places they can directly search for jobs and the method behind these.
Ask the young people to identify what they think are the top 3 places to search for jobs and record their individual contributions on a piece of flipchart paper. / Flipchart
Marker Pens / Know where and how to search for jobs
Searching for opportunities
Using the career choices that young people have previously identified, ask them to search for job descriptions, training requirements on the National Careers Service website.
Young people should be able to find 2 relevant job vacancies using the methods they have identified (this could be on the internet, in the paper or some existing printed examples that you have already printed off). If using the internet, identify a couple of good websites to share with them prior to the task.
Ask young people to print evidence of relevant jobs and training opportunities that they identify
