Step / Description / Hazard / Controls
Operation
Set oven power to the “cook” position
Set fan switch to the “Max or Min” position as required
Set thermostat to desired temperature, allow to preheat
Put on oven mitts. Set items in oven to bake
Set timer. Remove when completed / -risk of muscle strain if roaster to heavy
-risk of burn to hands and arms / -Always use oven mitts to prevent skin burns
-Use proper body mechanics when handling heavy items
Cleaning
Allow oven to cool completely
-remove racks from oven when cooled
- Prepare surrounding area for possible over spray , liberally spread newspaper under the oven and surrounding area to protect the floor
- use designated l protective equipment
-Spray the inside of the oven as well as the door with oven cleaner. Hold can upright, point away from face. Spray surface from a distance of 23-30cm (9-12inches) spray top of oven first, then sides and bottom
-Close oven doors and allow to sit for 5-10 minutes. Longer if heavily stained areas.
-  In large sink ,scrub the oven racks with a pot scrubber
-  Rinse thoroughly when clean. set aside
-  Wipe clean with wet cloth rinsing frequently. Scrub heavily soiled areas.. Change water often to ensure that all traces of the oven cleaner is removed.
-  When clean, reassemble and wipe outside of oven.
-  Clean up surrounding area to wipe off any areas where over spray may have hit.
-  Wash floor surrounding area / -Risk to eyes, skin and breathing / -Only use oven cleaner in well ventilated areas.
-Avoid spraying oven cleaner directly on pilot oven if gas oven.
