JOB PURPOSE

The purpose of this role is to oversee the day to day running of the Age Cymru Gwent Information & Advice Service and Digital Inclusion Project ensuring continuity and quality of service provision.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the Information and Digital Services, including assisting the Group Service Manager with the recruitment of staff and volunteers
  • To organise, supervise and allocate work to front line staff and volunteers, and act as their immediate point of support
  • To carry out regular formal supervision, key performance indicator monitoringand appraisal of front line staff and volunteers
  • To oversee the provision of general information and advice to the public by staff and volunteers.
  • Complete Benefit checks and form completion for service users on an occasional basisin order to maintain personal performance indicator for Quality Mark
  • To maintain the service database
  • To work with the GSM to ensure the maintenance of quality standards in relation to service delivery
  • To provide regular service reports to the GSM using statistical and other information
  • To organise and hold regular Team Meetings to maintain communicationand relay relevant updates to the team
  • To maintain links with the community and external bodies, promoting the Service at meetings and events
  • To provide talks and presentations, promoting Age Cymru Gwent Services to community groups
  • To manage and develop the digital inclusion project and its staff
  • To carry out any other duties as required by the GSM

Skills and aptitudes
Proven experience of managing teams / E / Application/interview
An understanding of monitoring employee and volunteer performance / E / Application/interview
An ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and representatives of external agencies / E / Interview
An ability to confidently speak and present to community groups / E / Application/interview
An proven understanding of the needs of service users / E / Application/interview
An ability to interact with service users in a non judgmental way / E / Application/interview
A demonstrated understanding of confidentiality and data protection / E / Application and interview
An ability to produce accurate detailed reports / D / Application and interview
Knowledge of the welfare benefits system as it applied to the service user group / D / Application
Circumstances
Willing to work in any of the Charity’s locations / E / Application and interview
Full driving license and access to a vehicle for work purposes / E / Application
Able to work 9.00 to 5.00 Monday to Friday / E / Application and interview
Willing to work very occasional weekends and evenings to attend events and provide talks / D / Application and interview
