Job description
As a Software Developer, you are contributing and improving, reviewing and developing our LIMS in collaboration with our experienced Software Developer, whilst adhering to relevant procedures and health and safety guidelines according to company quality standards. As a System Administrator you are responsible for maintaining, upgrading and managing our software, hardware and networks. In addition, you should be able to communicate with a variety of interdisciplinary teams and users. Your goal will be that our IT infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently.
Reports to
The Software Developer & System Administrator reports to the Lab Manager
Tasks
-Maintenance and development of our LIMS and act as back-up for our Software Developer
-Make software improvements and implement innovative ideas into software code
-Present ideas, plans, and results regarding software improvement
-Support of the laboratory in handling of sequencing data
-To develop, write and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and related documentsin cooperation with Project Managers
-Keeping up-to-date with technical developments
-Installing and configuring software, hardware and networks
-Monitoring system performance and troubleshooting issues
-Ensuring security and efficiency of our IT infrastructure
-Training and instruction of staff on recent technologies
-Take care of all related administrative tasks where necessary
Requirements
-Minimal Bachelor Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related discipline
-Professional certification (e.g. MCSA) is a plus
-Good knowledge of HTML, PHP, JavaScript and preferably a good understanding of two other languages such as C++, Python, Bash, or Java
-Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms
-Proven experience as System Administrator, Network Administrator or similar role
-Knowledge of system security
-Experience with databases, networks and patch management
-Prefer to work in a life science environment
-Excellent knowledge of Dutch and English both in word and writing
