DESCRIPTION
This is work performed by all media and communication workers not listed separately and includes multimedia material production.
Some positions in this occupation may be responsible for coordinating work and supervising employees.
EXAMPLES OF WORK
Supervises employees by assigning work, reviewing progress and assessing performance.
Determines format, approach, content, level, and medium to meet objectives most effectively within budgetary constraints, utilizing research, knowledge, and training.
Locates and secures settings, properties, effects, and other production necessities.
Develops production ideas based on assignment or generates own ideas based on objectives and interest.
Develops manuals, texts, workbooks, or related materials for use in conjunction with production materials.
Performs narration or presents announcements.
Directs and coordinates activities of assistants and other personnel during production.
Conducts training sessions on selection, use, and design of audiovisual materials, and operation of presentation equipment.
Constructs and positions properties, sets, lighting equipment, and other equipment.
Plans and develops pre-production ideas into outlines, scripts, continuity, story boards, and graphics, or directs assistants to develop ideas.
Sets up, adjusts, and operates equipment, such as cameras, sound mixers, and recorders during production.
Reviews requirements for the design of various publications and makes appropriate recommendations.
Assists in the selection of photographs to support written material.
Selects, prepares, creates, reviews, completes and/or designs free-hand and computer assisted illustrations, artwork, and graphics and incorporates into publications, posters, and other public information displays.
Researches and writes multimedia program content.
Produces multimedia programs, which may include scheduling, hosting, conducting talent or guest searches.
Operates a variety of multimedia equipment.
Directs work assignments of other personnel in multimedia productions.
Produces film and digital photographic images for public information.
Operates photographic laboratory.
Plans, coordinates and organizes work assignments for multiple clients.
