Post Context

Severn Wye Energy Agency is a sustainable energy focused educational charity with an interesting range of projects in its portfolio that work towards delivering our key charitable aims. These aims are focused on delivering sustainable energy measures and practices that improve quality of life, efficiency and reduce environmental impacts. The charity now works with all sectors but has a firm rooting in delivering direct and practical support to people in their own homes. Work in this area includes the award winning Warm and Well serviceproviding free, impartial and local advice on energy efficiency, including financial help available, as well as a range of programmes including; working with housing associations, the private rental sector and ‘hard to treat’ homes.

The Head of activity under the theme of Domestic Energy Services is considered a key role for Severn Wye who have built much of their reputation on the basis of providing a much needed service to individuals, and particularly those considered vulnerable, that helps them live more comfortably, affordably and healthily in their own homes. Whilst affordable warmth and energy efficiency are very current social issues the political landscape for providing support in these is subject to much change and challenge.

There is a well-established and competent team currently delivering our work streams under this theme. It is therefore crucial that the new manager respects their current high standards of performance and has a positive ‘people management’ style.
