Location: Holland Park W11 (West London)

Hours: flexible but a minimum commitment of 3 days a week for 3 - 4 months

Reporting to: Sri Lanka Project Coordinator

Salary: This is an unpaid volunteer internship. Daily lunch expenses of £5/day will be provided and reasonable travel expenses within London to the offices in Holland Park will be reimbursed.

THINK EQUAL Intern Scheme

THINK EQUAL is looking for a bright and enthusiastic person to take on the role of a Sri Lanka Project Intern. The role will get involved in all aspects of the organisation’s Sri Lanka programme, working closely with a small team of staff. The intern can expect to experience all areas of our work and gain a good understanding of all elements of the organisation.

The Sri Lanka Project Intern will focus in particular onsupporting the planning, delivery and monitoring of the Sri Lanka rollout of THINK EQUAL’s equality studies curriculum. This internship is an ideal opportunity for a recent graduate looking to gain experience working in the non-profit sector and/or the education/international development sector.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The role will involve, but is not limited to the following tasks:

  • Support the communication with the Sri Lanka team at the request and guidance of the Sri Lanka Project Coordinator;
  • Provide on-going support as needed to the Sri Lanka and London teams;
  • Editing and formatting documents for the Sri Lanka Rollout;
  • Supporting the implementation and delivery of the Sri Lanka rollout, responding to team requests;
  • Compiling lessons learnt and proposing improvements on the delivery of the Sri Lanka rollout curriculum;
  • General ad hoc office administration as part of a small self-servicing team;
  • Undertaking any other reasonable support and or activity as required.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Interest in non-profit international development, education, programme delivery and THINK EQUAL’s work;
  • Strong computer literacy (experience and knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, Excel);
  • An effective communicator, both written and verbal, with excellent spoken and written English specifically;
  • Ability to work on a number of tasks simultaneously;
  • Ability to work both independently using initiative and as part of a team taking direction;
  • Self-motivated, good organizational skills, detail-oriented, ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the confidence to engage with high-profile individuals;
  • Positive and can-do attitude.
