JOB DESCRIPTION – SENIOR PERFORMANCE ANALYST

Salary Scales: £36,259 - £47,298 p.a. pro rata

Grade: Level 3 (All Sciences)

Hours of Work: Such hours as necessary to carry out your duties. This will involve a minimum of 18.5 hours per week(0.5 FTE)and may include working outside normal office hours at evenings and weekends and on Public Holidays.

Location: The normal place of work is BWB’s Elite Training Centre which is based at EIS Sheffield, however the EIS may from time to time require you to travel to and work at other offices.

ROLE SUMMARY

The role managestheapplied delivery and development of performance analysis services for World Class Programme athletes within Wheelchair Basketball, working within the coaching process and as part of a multi-disciplinary team to create a world class high performance environment.

MAIN TASKS AND ACTIVITIES

Work within the Wheelchair Basketball Performance Support team and the EIS technical interface to improve performance through developing, implementing and pioneering world leading Performance Analysis services to British Wheelchair Basketball.

  • Provide world leading performance analysis services that define and align ‘what it takes to win’ (WITTW) within the sport.
  • Being accountable for the strategic direction and delivery of performance analysis services within Wheelchair Basketball into the Tokyo Cycle.
  • Use objective data and information (video and numerical) across all aspects of the performance cycle to enhance the coaching process, impact performance decisions and improve athletes performance.
  • Capture, prepare and analyse data from, and at, competitions and training both nationally and internationally. The role will require a significant commitment to the demands of ‘front line’ delivery including extensive travel.
  • Maintain, manage and develop comprehensive performance databases.
  • Design, implement and deliver targeted projects into the Tokyo Cycle and beyond
  • Work collaboratively within the EIS, with external partners and UK Sport to meet the needs of performance and magnify the impact of performance analysis support.
  • Work within the rules of the relevant governing body’s (e.g.The NGB, BPA, EIS) Code of Conduct, standards and guidelines.

Qualifications
Higher degree specialising in the area of Performance Analysis (or equivalent qualification in a related subject e.g. Biomechanics, Engineering, Mathematics) / Essential / Sight of certificates
International Society of Performance Analysis of Sport (ISPAS) accreditation at level 4 (minimum) / Essential / Sight of accreditation
BASES accreditation or equivalent including interdisciplinary accreditation with evidence of significant experience and practice in performance analysis. / Desirable / Sight of accreditation
Experience
Extensive experience in the provision of performance analysis support to athletes and coaches to improve performance. This experience should include work with national teams and their athletes. / Essential / Application Interview
