Job Description: Resource Development Manager

Position Status:Exempt, Full Time (1.0 FTE) Occasional evening/weekends required

Location:Communities In Schools of Benton-Franklin

Reports to:Executive Director

Pay Range:$45,000 to $55,000 annually, commensurate with relevant experience

CIS of Benton-Franklin is a small, but high energy organization supporting agency staff in 18 schools across four regional school districts including Pasco, Kennewick, Richland and Prosser. Our role is to provide and sustain strong student services in these local communities. Qualified candidates will have experience with a wide range of resource development strategies, and work well independently to meet established goals while maintaining flexibility to address emerging priorities

Position Summary:

  • Participates in resource development support activities includinggrant writing, community engagement, donor data management and major event support
  • Coordinatepromotional efforts to increase name recognition and consistent brand awareness through written and social media strategies

Key Responsibilities:

Resource Development (80%)

  • Provides grants management to track timelines, prepare proposals and submit grant reports.
  • Manages Donor Database including input, thank you letters and activity tracking.
  • Supports annual fundraising event including securing in-kind supports, procurement of event or auction items, managing ticket sales, tracking donations and preparing materials for event.

Communications (15%)

  • Develops marketing tools/materials in alignment with resource development priorities
  • Develops/promotes quantitative data and qualitative stories for affiliate use
  • Maintains website and social media with assistance with site coordinator support.

General (5%)

  • Fosters and maintains positive relationships with agency staff and board and the community.
  • Works collaboratively with network of affiliates and state office to maximize opportunities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned as appropriate in a small non-profit office environment

PreferredQualifications:

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Business or a related field and 2-3 years relevant experience.
  • Successful grant or similar report writing experience.
  • Event coordination experience with fund raising auctions or large celebrations.
  • Work with databases or similar tracking/registration systems
  • Knowledge with a variety of marketing strategies in a non-profit or similar setting
  • Experience/some proficiency with desktop publishing products, Web 2.0 communicationand social networking toolsand/or word press
