.Net Platform Manager

Informa, is seeking a .NET Platform Manager who will be responsible for managing the team within the overall IT Operations Product Support division that is dedicated to the day-to-day running of the various applications that are primarily based around Microsoft technologies. Keeping these applications in an operational state and serving the Informa client base as well as the internal users dependant on these applications is the primary focus of this role. Patching, resolving known and discovered bugs, plus small-scale development will be the main area of work to be undertaken by your team.

This is a man management role, leading a team of Developers based both in the UK and abroad to ensure that are products are adequately supported and maintained. In this role you will keep detailed records of maintenance activities, and help structure the activities, including communicating schedules and delivery timeframes to the Product Delivery Director.

Key skills and experience sought include

· 

·  Strong experience on the operations of Production environments.

·  Strong leadership and management skills experience in BAU development teams

·  Strong verbal and written English skills, to articulate / express ideas and thoughts clearly

·  Solid understanding and ability to coach on software release best practices

·  Solid understanding on web and server hosting best practice

·  Strong reporting skills and with the ability to evaluate and summarize information provided

·  Ability to manage a high volume of workload and prioritize effectively with attention to detail

·  A recognised University degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience

FUNCTIONAL & TECHNICAL SKILLS

·  Good knowledge of server architecture – load-balancers, firewall configurations, NAS/SAN setups, Clusters, Failovers, Networks

·  Mobile technologies and platforms

·  MS Office Tools (Word, Excel, Microsoft Project, PowerPoint, Visio)

·  Browsers: Internet Explorer (6+); Firefox; Chrome;

·  Detailed knowledge of Microsoft web technologies, development tools, desktop/server technologies, including but not limited to :

·  ASP.NET 1.0/1.1/2/3/3.5/4 onwards (including Classic ASP)

·  C# (VB.Net knowledge also advantageous)

·  MS Visual Basic

·  .NET MVC

·  XML/XSL/XPath/XQuery

·  MS SQL Server 2000 and onwards (T-SQL, SP’s, Triggers, DB design etc)

·  MS Scripting technologies

·  Web services

·  JavaScript/JQuery/JSON/AJAX technologies

·  CSS/Media Queries/HTML 4 & 5
