ROLE DESCRIPTION

Role Title: GHM Volunteer Transport Helper

Reports to: GreenHouse Mentoring Transport Co-ordinator

Last updated: June 2011

Summary: To assist the GHM Transport Co-ordinator to provide transport to GHM users on Thursday evenings, Friday and Saturday mornings.

An average of one hour a week

The vision for this project is to see young people in Luton empowered to fulfil their potential.

Duties and Responsibilities

1.  To assist the GHM Transport Co-ordinator to devise a system to provide transport to GHM users on Thursday evenings, Fridays and Saturday mornings.

2.  To compile a GHM transport rota

3.  To provide transport by driving the SBC minibus or use own car

4.  To ensure that the following is undertaken:-

·  DBS enhanced disclosures

·  Two satisfactory references

·  GHM signed Confidentiality agreement and Data Protection Form

·  The following original documents to be provided for photocopying: Driving licence, MOT certificate, Insurance.

Working conditions:

The individual will volunteer for one hour per week as agreed.

The individual will be required to undertake the following training which will be held at The GreenHouse in Stopsley:

·  GHM Induction training

·  GHM Safe to Grow training (safeguarding and child protection)

·  GHM Practical Safety for Volunteers training (lone working)

·  Further training at least twice a year

·  On-going/refresher training at regular intervals

The above duties and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed. They are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties and requirements of personnel.

It is important to note that the individual will be working with vulnerable young people. Therefore due to the nature of the work, the role will be offered to people aged 18 years and over.
