JOB SUMMARY: The assistant house manager is responsible for the successful functioning of the home for evenings & nights or weekends. The responsibilities can be broken down into five areas: Mentoring, Safety, Schedule adherence, Health Care & Domestic Skill Development. The assistant house manager invests in relationships as a daily mentor and role model to residents for all aspects of communal living. These activities include resident participation in a healthy evening / weekend routine (as indicated by the program structure), assisting in routine maintenance, food preparation, enforcement of rules & policies, ensuring the safety of each resident, and promoting resident independence, dignity, and respect and facilitating the residents’ healthcare.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1.  Assures a therapeutic environment for residents, including resident rights, dignity, respect, privacy, education, and participation in program initiatives.

2.  Maintains resident schedule in the evening or weekend to provide consistency, stability, and appropriate activities.

3.  Assures residents attendance at possible social activities.

4.  Utilizes resident centered, strengths based, trauma-informed care and problem solving approach.

5.  Participates in routine communication between/among staff & residents.

6.  Job share caretaking of Eden’s Glory properties.

7.  Assures appropriate appearance, cleanliness, organization and orderliness of home environment.

8.  Assists residents in meal planning, preparation, and purchases for the home.

9.  Leads by example.

10.  May assist in transportation to activities such as medical appointments, grocery shopping or social outings if appropriate.

11.  Provide a weekly summary of tasks worked on and/or completed

12.  Creates an environment conducive to resident growth.

13.  Attends weekly I-30 and Monthly Staff meetings

14.  Other duties as may be requested by Director/Program Director.

7.  Adheres to safety guidelines and procedures at all times.

8.  Pursues opportunities and annually attends a minimum of 15 Continuing Education Units assuring topics related to the work and ministry at Eden’s Glory.

Skills:

Demonstrates organizational, verbal, interpersonal, mathematical, analytical, grammar/spelling, reading/comprehension of written instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions, and computer skills.

Job Knowledge:

Knowledge of local/global human trafficking issues including common processes, prevalence, and appropriate interventions.

Education/Life Experience:

·  Bachelor’s Degree minimum. Master’s Degree preferred.

·  Previous exposure/work related to field of human trafficking, social service, clinical therapy, or other related human services, preferred.

·  Previous experience in leadership role, or sufficient demonstration of life experiences that would provide a good basis for mentoring responsibilities.

·  Profess faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
