EDUCATION
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, N.Y.
Masters of Science in Management (MS MGT, equivalent to MBA),1971-1972, I focused on how trends in computer-based information systems would affect operations of complex organizations. In particular, I investigated how the emerging "Electronic Medical Record" would affect the effectiveness, efficiency and quality of healthcare delivery systems.
Doctoral Studies(incomplete), 1971-1973,completed all course work towards a PhD in Health Care Delivery Information Systems Design. In 1972 I spent a year in the Albany Medical Center Hospital exploring how the "then new" concept of “local area networking” would affect the management of patient records and the delivery of medical services. From 1993-1995 as COO at Wellmark, Inc. Westlake Village, CA, I was able to implement some of the concepts and techniques developed during my PhD studies as I managed the operation and enhancement of healthcare claims processing systems integration at 60 hospitals in California and New York.
Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE), 1970-1971, implemented a Computer Aided Instruction (CAI) prototype involving the use of artificial intelligence, expert systems, and deductive logic techniques to enhance the user experience and improve training effectiveness.
Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE), 1966-1970, cooperative education intern at IBM Poughkeepsie on the Time Sharing Option (TSO) & advanced Operating System/370 debugging & regression testing tools.
