NYULMC 650 First Avenue Telephony Upgrade

Floors 4 thru 8

PROJECT OVERVIEW

  1. This project shall include 2 phases of work.
  2. The current space is occupied.
  3. All work for this project shall be done after hours.
  4. Phase 1 of this project will consist of installing new data outlets adjacent to existing voice and data outlets, fitting out 2 new IDF closets, and upgrading an existing closet.
  5. Phase 2 will consist of the demolition of the old voice and data outlets. This scope will also consist of the removal of the existing copper voice backbone riser back to the 660 1st Avenue BDF in the cellar which supports this space.

f.  The 6th floor IDF is existing. Contractor shall shift racks and furnish and install new vertical wire managers on existing equipment racks in this closet.

g.  Contractor to fit out new 5th and 7th floor IDF rooms with all Equipment Racks, Ladder Racks, Patch Panels, Wire managers, Station Cabling, Copper Riser Cabling, Patch Cords and Jumpers.

h.  All ladder rack shall be furnished and installed by the communications contractor.

i.  Contractor to run new Superior Essex 6A UTP cable to all new locations as noted on the drawings.

j.  Contractor to run (1) 12 strand OM1 Fiber from the 4th floor riser closet to the new 5th floor IDF closet. Terminate on new LC module in existing shelf on 4 and new shelf on 5.

k.  Contractor to run (1) 12 strand OM1 Fiber from the 6th floor riser closet to the new 7th floor IDF closet. Terminate on new LC module in existing shelf on 6 and new shelf on 7.

l.  Contractor to test existing fiber optic links between existing 660 1st Avenue BDF and the existing 4th Floor and 6th Floor riser closet fiber shelves. Contractor shall re-certify fiber links and provide repairs as required.

m.  Contractor shall be responsible for all associated fire stopping due to work associated with this contract.

n.  All Hilti speed sleeves shown on the drawings shall be furnished and installed by the electrical contractor.

o.  Contractor shall provide labeling, testing and terminations as described in drawing specification and project notes.

  1. Contractor shall submit unit pricing for all material and labor.
  2. Contractor to provide as-builts in AutoCAD format (with the exception of the 4th Floor) as well as test results on CD within 30 days of project close out.
