REMINDER: ITEMS TO CHECK

Matters that must be addressed by Work Supervisor/Leader for field-based research before going into the field:

□A Work Safety Assessmenthas been completed, to identify hazards and control measures

□Participants have been briefed on the logistical and safety arrangements, including any emergency procedures

□Special requirements for a specific activity have been completed e.g. 4WD training, rock climbing, scuba diving, caving, boat license etc.

□First Aid arrangements (take note of the nearest emergency services to your field work site). Personal medical requirements or precautions/ prescriptions, do you have any allergies or medical conditions that need special attention in case of an emergency

□Personal protection, e.g. suitable clothing and equipment

□Communications equipment is packed and charged

□Alert local Authorities of designated sites that you are coming on site. E.g. Local ParksVic/DSE office, farmer notified that you will be accessing private property.

□Necessary permits or licenses have been obtained.
