Instruct a variety of service courses for the university, including Technical Writing in the Professions and Rhetoric and Composition. Tutor in the university Writing Center, helping students with diverse needs improve their writing skills. Named faculty advisor for the Upstart Crows, the English department student organization. Served as mentor for graduate teaching assistants. Instructed in Synergy, a program designed to boost the retention rates of provisionally admitted students.

Taught both a writing and a research course to 10 underprivileged Wyoming high school students interested in the medical profession. Developed plans and assessments to meet the standards of a rigorous academic program.
Graduate Assistant, University of Wyoming, Fall 2002-Spring 2004
Taught freshman English to 23 students, focusing on the writing process (three semesters). Worked with peers to ensure consistency in assessment across sections of freshman composition. Assisted Susan Aronstein in teaching Citizen Hollywood. The following semester, I taught 20 students in the same class. This intellectual community course met the goals created by the university, which are “to introduce students to cultural and other diversity issues at UW or within the disciplinary or interdisciplinary framework of the course; and to introduce students to the intellectual expectations of the university.” Taught Introduction to Literature (Summer 2004).
Student Teacher, Natrona Country High School, Spring 2002
Worked with administrators, teachers, and parents to improve students’ quality of education. Led parent-teacher conferences. Participated in IEP meetings and faculty in-services, in addition to assisting with extra-curricular events like speech and debate. Used a variety of assessments to meet school and state standards. Designed and instructed a British literature survey course as well as a world literature Survey.
