Jake Troth releases his new single “Everybody Loves You” through Kakalak Records today. The track is available now at all digital retailers. “Everybody Loves You” – which premiered yesterday via Stereogum ( – heralds the upcoming release of Troth’s long awaited short film, “DOUBLE BLACK DIAMOND,” due March 29th. The remarkable short film, co-written by Troth and director Stewart Yost, and album both showcase powerful new songssuch as “Material Things” and the poignant ballad, “The Queen.”

Double Black Diamond, the film, tells the bittersweet story of Jake and Ansa, a winsome female reporter who appears by his bedside one morning and informs him: “I'm here to write a story of your rise to fame.” What follows is part love story and part satire on the media circus that surrounds a rising artist. The film is simple, intimate, romantic, and delightfully unpredictable, just like Troth’s music. Troth and director Stewart Yost wrote the story, then combed through the catalog of songs Troth had been writing for the past eight years to determine what belonged in the film. By harnessing the many moods conjured in the film’s visuals, Troth and his co-producer Alex Goose and executive producer Shama Joseph have given the warmly melodic songs featured inDouble Black Diamondan extra emotional resonance.

Jake Troth has been hailed for his inimitable musical gifts by such luminaries as Spike Lee, who applauded the North Carolina-born singer/songwriter/producer/guitarist as both “creative and innovative.” Now based in Los Angeles, Troth made his bones by collaborating with diverse artists including Big Boi, Lil Wayne, Kelly Rowland, Jennifer Lopez, Kevin Gates, Erik Hassle and more. His collaboration with Big Boi led to various national TV performances including what Rolling Stone hailed as a “booty-rattling” live performance on CBS’ Late Show With David Letterman as well as appearances on Jimmy Kimmel Live and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Other career highlights thus far include scoring a number of acclaimed short films including “Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Presents Dreams,” a digital short film soundtracked by Troth’s personally approved remix of Eurythmics’ classic “Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This).”
