President’s Report
· December meeting cancelled due to multiple obligations. Agreed that all mothers will have credit for attending December meeting.
· Founders Day – Chapter retain allotted 38 tickets to ensure that all Mothers whom desire to go have an opportunity to do so.
· Associates Deb Luncheon scheduled for December 13, 2014. Tickets currently on sale.
· Debutante Ball is December 28, 2014 at Hilton Americas.
Approval of minutes
· Minutes were read by Recording Secretary, Desiree Dunlop. Moved for approval as read by Desiree Dunlop and Second by Cathy Andrews. Minutes were approved.

· The Membership Committee met and proposed the intake of 10 new mothers including legacies (ie, if there are 10 legacies e will not vote on new Mothers). No discussion. No one opposed. Motion passed.
· Prospective Member Open House 2/1/2014
· Chapter boundaries include all zip codes within Beltway 8.
· Applications due 2/17/2014
· Voting for candidates at Mother’s Meeting 3/10/2014
· New Member Initiation (Bridging/New Officers induction) 5/23/2014
· December 13, 2014 – Associates Debutante Luncheon
· January 16-19, 2014 Jack & Jill Family Ski Weekend
· June 18-21, 2015 Teen Conference – New Orleans, LA
· June 19-23 – South Central Region Road Trip – leaving from New Orleans, LA
· July 16-19, 2015 – Mother’s Conference – The Woodlands Resort and Spa

Programming / Jocelyn Greely / · Grade Group budgets completed and submitted to GG sponsors
· Chapter handbook submitted to region on November 1st. Link to handbook to be placed on website
· Houston/Southbelt J&J Halloween Teen Party – Kudo’s to Arvia Few, Teen Lead Sponsor and teen party committee. Discussion ensued as to how to encourage appropriate behavior.
· Up the Hill – Senior bio and Chapter Submission. All submissions must be made online via web upload by January 15th to region. Chapter deadline December 1st. (Senior and Debutante submissions).
· Yolanda Williams Breast Cancer Walk – Houston Chapter Team participation
· Jack & Jill Bedtime Stories – Inaugural Bedtime Story Hour; November 10, 2014. Next date TBD.
· MLK Day of Service – January 19th, 2015. Any suggestions please forward to Programming Chair
· Derrick Thomas Foundation – Scholarship Luncheon March 28th.
· Liability Forms – 84 received. Please submit ASAP.
· Founder’s Day – Houston COE Combined Activity, January 25th, 2014 at the Omni Galleria.

· President Johnson reinforced that Profit and Loss statements are available on website and should be read beforehand.

Courtesy / Mary Rousseve presented for Allison Hollins / · Three “thank you” notes received; Jacqueline Bostic; Shemeika Landry, and Phyllis and Howard Epps.
· Courtesies extended to National President, Tammy King (loss of her mother-in-law); Member at Large, Diedra Fontaine (husband had knee surgery); Phyllis Epps (loss of her mother-in-law); Cindy Parris (loss of Mother-in-law); Shemieka Landry (loss of her mother); Letitia Plummber (mother recovering from double mastectomy); Wiletta Rucker (mother-in-law had a fall); Associate Carlie Nash (house fire); Associate Jacqueline Bostic (honored as Living Legend by Blue Triangle Multi-Cultural Association).

Community Service / Elizabeth Smith for Kimberly Phillips / · Reminder to bring unwrapped toys for toy drive. Will try to purchase 20 bikes as a chapter. Deadline for donations is December 9th.

Health / Jocelyn Greely / · November 17th is World Prematurity Awareness Day. Mother body wore purple to commemorate Prematurity Awareness Month.
· Statistics presented regarding prevalence of premature births among African Americans and the state of Texas
· A video was shown from March of Dimes website
Teens / Lisa Wallace presented for Arvia Few / · Children from all over the region attended. Things the children liked were the location and DJ. Would like to have a Christmas party as a future event.
· Suggestion to get more Dads to attend; possible Father’s Auxiliary activity.
· Each chapter raised ~$1000 after expenses.

Associates / Sabrina Loeb / · History of Associate Debutante’s Luncheon as the kick-off to Debutante season.
· Raffle winners were selected and announced
