IUCN World Heritage Consultation Form

Background: In its role as Advisory Body to the UNESCO World Heritage Committee on natural heritage, IUCN continually monitors the state of conservation of the 200+ natural World Heritage sites. This monitoring role includes the preparation of c.60 reactive monitoring reports on natural World Heritage Sites every year, undertaking c.15 monitoring missions, and day-to-day monitoring of all listed sites. In addition, IUCN is in the process of undertaking Conservation Outlook Assessments of all natural World Heritage sites. These assessments will summarize the current state and trend of a site's values, the threats to those values, and the effectiveness of protection and management. They will also include a summary of the benefits associated with each site, and identify key conservation issues requiring action. IUCN consults a wide range of stakeholders during its monitoring processes and welcomes any news, documents, research or comments on the status of these sites. This consultation process is indispensible to ensuring that conservation issues affecting natural World Heritage sites are identified and addressed as early as possible(see our website for further information Please use this consultation form to provide comments.
