A.1By TSB AAP-43 of 1 September 2006, it was announced that the following ITU-T Recommendation was approved, in accordance with the procedures outlined in ITU-T RecommendationA.8:

Assignment of Signalling Area/Network Codes (SANC)(ITU-T Recommendation Q.708 (03/1999))

At the request of the Administrations of Ireland and Madagascar, the Director of TSB has assigned the following signalling area/network codes (SANC) for use in the international part of the signalling system No. 7 network of these countries/geographical areas, in accordance with ITU-T Recommendation Q.708 (03/1999):

The Lesotho Telecommunications Authority (LTA), Maseru, announces the entry into service of the following National Numbering Plan (NNP) in Lesotho.

Introduction

The Lesotho numbering plan is a numbering scheme which is based on two principles, namely:

a)Network Selection
b)Service Provision

3.Numbering scheme type

Lesotho utilizes a “closed” numbering scheme of uniform eight (8)-digit National (Significant) Number (N(S)N). Also, the Network Destination Codes (NDCs) or Network Identification Codes (NICs) (a.k.a. known as network access codes) select the respective network destinations for traffic routing (except for toll-free, premium rate services and short codes).

At present, three (3) NDCs/levels have been allocated to the three existing network operators, namely:

a)Level 2 for Telecom Lesotho (TL), usage:+266 2 XXX XXXX
b)Level 5 for Vodacom Lesotho (VCL), usage:+266 5 XXX XXXX
c)Level 6 for Econet Ezi-Cel Lesotho (EEL), usage:+266 6 XXX XXXX

Level 8 is allocated for toll-free numbers/servicesas in ITU-T Recommendation E.164 and is utilized thus:

KPN (Royal Dutch Telecom), The Hague, recalls that an additional number series +3188XXXXXXX has been introduced in the fixed network of the Netherlands since 21October2004.

With this number series, companies can be reached by using one single number, regardless of the location in the Netherlands.

Several complaints have been received about the non-reachability of the +3188XXXXXXX series. Administrations and Recognized Operating Agencies (ROAs) are requested to ensure that the +3188 series are accessible in their switches.
