ITS TIME FOR CHANGE

*Americans now buy five times as much clothing as they did in 1980.

*There is only a 15 or 20 percent chance that a piece of clothing you've donated is being worn by someone in your community

*over 90% of textile waste is perfectly recyclable.

*The production of cotton destroys farmland and pollutes waterways. In fact, 22.5% of allagricultural insecticidesand10% of all pesticidesused each year go into cotton farming. It may be hard to believe, but the production of just one cotton t-shirt requiresone-third of a pound of pesticides.

*According to the Council of Textile Recycling, the U.S. generates around 25 billion pounds of brand-new textiles per year! (Around 85% of that eventually heads for landfills)

“I think after any big change in any industry it takes a while to feel and smell the dirt that comes out of something that is polluting,” says Christina Dean, founder and CEO of Redress, an organization focused on promoting environmental sustainability in fashion. “I think now there is a change because you can’t deny that the fastfashion industryis having a massive impact ondeveloping countries.”

When clothing isn’t recycled, it means more and more has to be produced and that means more and more pollution for all of us.

Benefits of recycling that T-shirt, you conserve raw materials and natural resources. That means less has to be extracted, refined, transported and processed which lightens the load on Mother Earth. You also conserve the energy that’s needed in the manufacturing process. Less energy used means less needs to be generated, resulting in smaller carbon footprints and lessgreenhouse gasesand emissions.

So hopefully some of that information hit a few nerves. I know it does for me, so much so, I decided to base a business around the whole concept 

Imagine what our world would be like if businesses focused on mottos such as “what’s not good for all isn’t good at all” or “making an old item usable or cherish again.”

I have and spend parts of my days dreaming about a world of love and peace in all areas of life. Knowing that change begins and ends with all of us,by supporting movements and businesses that are supporting you, we can make a huge difference.

We offer what I like to refer to as, “Love only changes shape.” Old Concert, School, Travel Tees can be viewed as a once loved piece that only serves as a memory. Send them in and we will make them a cherished usable piece once more.

Best part about my journey so far is the times that last a lifetime! Watching the kids make their own T-shirt designs can be very entertaining! My son Zander came up with a way to have a hand free bag! I mean maybe not the best fashion design but so creative! And I am thinking this would be great for hiking! Life is your creation!
