It’s time for the 2015 KansasState Fair –Fried N’ Joy! The Fair will be September 11-20, 2015.
The Kansas State Fair offers group rates for Kansans with disabilities Tuesday, September 15 - Friday, September 18. This program is available only to Agencies and organized groups, who provide support to a group of individuals with physical and/or mental disabilities.
Even if you do not order tickets, you may want to return the enclosed form to be placed on our direct mailing list. If more convenient, e-mail the information to:
Discount Gate Tickets:
To be eligible for the discounted gate tickets, groups must attend the Fair any day, Tuesday through Friday. The Agency will be able to purchase outside gate tickets at the discounted rate of $3.00 for group members with disabilities. For every four (4) tickets purchased, one (1) complimentary gate ticket will be issued for use by accompanying sponsors / attendants / bus driver. The $3.00 tickets are not available through Dillon’s grocery stores or at the Fair gates.
To bring a group to the Fair, please complete the enclosed Kansas Groups with Disabilities Registration Form and return it to the Fair office by August31st. This assures we will have ample time to process your request and mail your tickets. All orders will be sent by certified mail unless you request to pick your order up at the Kansas State Fair Ticket Office prior to the start of the Fair on September 11. The Fair will not be responsible for lost or stolen tickets.
Additional gate tickets for other adults / attendants, at the discounted cost of $6.00, can be purchased from the Kansas State Fair Ticket Office via the Order Form, from Dillons’ Stores (beginning July 29) or on-line at through Thursday, September 10. Beginning Friday, September 11, the adult gate charge will be $10.00.
Groups are welcome to attend the Fair any day; however, the discounted gate tickets are only valid on weekdays. Please note that Monday, September 14 is Dollar Day. Gate admission is only $1.00 per person this day OR if you show your Dillons’ Plus Card, admission is free (one person per Dillons’ Plus Card).
No registration is required to attend on Monday, September 14 or weekend days of the Fair.
Parking:
We encourage you to drop off your group members at Gate 5 on the north side of the Fair and park your transport vehicle in the free public parking or public handicap parking (if space is available). All vehicles wishing to park in handicap parking must feature a state issued handicap hangtag.
Competitive Art Exhibits:
The second set of handouts is information relating to display and entry of art projects. These
Exhibits, created by Kansans with disabilities, will be displayed during the entire Fair in the Oz Gallery. Your group is encouraged to participate. The Competitive Exhibits Information Sheet and entry form is included and can be duplicated as needed or you may go to for information and forms. Entries should be submitted to the Fair by August 15, 2015, to avoid late fees. Please contact the Fair’s Competitive Exhibits Department at (620) 669-3621 with any questions.
Other Information:
The Highway Patrol Office in the AdministrationBuilding on the Fairgrounds will be a location spot for missing persons. We encourage everyone to include instructions with each individual person that state the individual should be taken to the Highway Patrol in the Administration Building should they get separated from their group. It would be helpful to include a contact phone number and any special instructions to assist the Highway Patrol in locating your group.
