Position Summary
The BA is responsible for understanding, documenting and supporting current and future business objectives, processes, and needs as related to IT solutions. The BA will focus on discovering and documenting business and technical requirements to be used in the creation of IT business systems/solutions, communication to stakeholders, as well as setting and managing expectations relative to timelines. The BA will leverage and support both COTS and Oil & Gas specific applications to support the business units.
Strategy & Planning
· Document current and future business needs.
· Proactively identify business and technical requirements.
· Assist IT management in assessing, planning, forecasting and trending current and future needs.
· Assist IT and the business in process engineering technology in order to meet business needs.
Operational Management
· Work directly with business unit stakeholders to identify current needs as they relate to IT.
· Work with BU stakeholders as well as internal IT resources to identify and document the proposed solution, technical and non-technical tasks, testing criteria, user acceptance criteria, success factors etc.
· Understand, investigate and document existing business processes and make intelligent recommendations about how we can enhance, refine or re-engineer those processes using Web, BI and BPMS tools
· Work with technical and non-technical staff to develop solution recommendations to the business unit and communicate how the solution meets business requirements.
· Manage day to day communication regarding project progress/status and roadblocks to IT and stakeholders.
· Create reports documenting project related activity and outcomes.
· Provide support and training to the business unit application consumers
Position Requirements
· Perform business analysis and document technical and non-technical requirements including user acceptance or success criteria.
· Assist business in implementing and configuring business process management software packages.
· Leverage existing tools including SharePoint, Spotfire, and O&G specific packages (BOLO, ADP, Aries, WellView, Generwell, ProCount) to solve process issues
· Communicate status, issues, risks, milestones and outcomes to both internal and external IT stakeholders.
· Document meeting minutes, agendas, and key decisions or outcomes and distribute information accordingly.
Formal Education & Certification
· MIS or CIS major preferred
· Completed a systems analysis course

Work Conditions
· Occasional evening and weekend work to meet deadlines.

· Occasional travel may be required.
