I would like to invite you to the next Nutrition & Cooking Group. This will be held on Tuesday, October 5th from 8:30–10:30am located in the Family Center on Lake Street in Alburgh. We will talk about nutrition and cook and eat a meal together while learning new techniques. This week we will be cooking with squash and pumpkins. At the end of each session each participant will receive a parting gift. This program is sponsored in part by the Alburgh School, UVM Extension, PIRC and NCSS.

On October 6th most of the k-8 students will be participating in a “Safety Awareness Day.” They will be walking, at scheduled times, to the Alburgh Fire & Rescue House and learning about our local Emergency Response Teams. Grand Isle Sheriff Department has also been invited to participate. If you our interested in joining your child on this day, please contact the classroom teacher.

Attention Parents of students in grades 4 – 8

Do you like to read? Lets start a “Parent Chat” DCF book club. Please visit the Family Zone on Wednesday, October 13th from 10:00am to 11:00am to meet the new Librarian and learn about the Dorothy Canfield Fisher Books (DCF) books and the book clubs that are happening at school.

The PTSA would like to have a “Trunk or Treat” event on Halloween evening. If you are interested in helping out with this event or have related ideas to share, Please join the next PTSA meeting on Tuesday, October 12th at 5:15 in the school library.

The last date in this series for the PIRC Parent Advisory Council meeting is Wednesday, October 13th at 6pm within the Vermont Adult Learning building located at 5 Lemhah Drive in St Albans.

The Alburgh Parent Connection meetings are held on the third Wednesday of every month. There are three left for this year - October 20th, November 17th and December 15th. Please join us!
