Irvine “Uniquely Qualified” for Amazon HQ2

IRVINE, CA –The Greater Irvine Chamber has partnered with the City of Irvine and the Irvine Company as chief advocates for Irvine as the best choice for Amazon’s second headquarters.

As Irvine Company Chairman Donald Bren recently expressed in a public statement, Irvine is “uniquely qualified” for this opportunity. The City of Irvine and Irvine Company provide optimal matching of financial and physical resources, along with benefits from more than 50 years of master planning.Irvine Company offers immediate short- and long-term leases on modern workspace sites with $0 upfront capital and flexible contract terms. All sites include built-in fiber and broadband infrastructure.

“This is likely the only substantive deal from any city in North America that doesn’t use public subsidies,” said Bryan Starr, president and CEO of the Greater Irvine Chamber, Economic Development, and Destination Irvine. “Along with the backing and portfolio of major landowners we also have unprecedented community support for Amazon to locate its second headquarters in Irvine.”

Irvine uniquely satisfies and exceeds Amazons other top demands:world-class education and the solid pipeline for technology workforce talent it provides, a vibrant innovation ecosystem, unsurpassed connectivity andtravel logistics, cultural diversity, unparalleled outdoor and recreation opportunities, and housing opportunities to meet the needs of a modern, diverse population.
