China-pan Luxury Panel December 6th 2009
New Luxury Movement led by The Perfume Foundation Changes the Face of the Chinese Economy.
Chinese entrepreneurs and consumers increasingly understand that a luxury lifestyle should complement, not exclude, their heritage. A new movement has to gradually introduce China’s own age of luxury.
Upon arriving to Shanghai, a foreigner is usually first impressed by the city’s towers and skyline, surprised by the city’s multicultural population and strong foreign presence, and even more intrigued by Shanghai’s ubiquitous heir of wealth and success. But after just a few moments of strolling down Nanjing Street, lined with luxury brands such as Gucci, Louis Vuitton, and Chanel, a foreign visitor may shockingly wonder: “Where is Shanghai’s Chinatown?”
Besides these foreign brands carrying worldwide recognition, it is nearly impossible to find a locally owned boutique boasting China’s own essence of luxury.
Where is Chinese luxury? If the whole world is actually “made in China”, investors and entrepreneurs understand that today luxury does not just mean “international brands.”
This new movement has of course a new code. This code will be introduce during the conference.
Program
On the 7th of December The Perfume Foundation China, leading this new movement, will be launched in presence of the Chairman of IPA, the International Perfumery Association (www.internationalperfumery.org - www.perfumefoundation.org)
On the 8th of December, the China Pan Luxury Panel will introduce its new luxury code during the larger Pan Retailing & Commercial Real Estate Conference.
Press conference will be on Monday Dec 7th at the Royal Bowman Resort in Kunshan, China
