Salary: / Pay Grade 30, $48,464.00 annually, State of Iowa benefits package
Minimum Qualifications: / Graduation from high school (GED); graduation from a school of court reporting with courses including legal and medical terminology, English, typing and law.Certification as a court reporter by the Iowa Board of Shorthand Reporters preferred, but competent candidates without certification may apply subject to the provisions of Iowa Code section 602.6603(4),
Duties: / This position serves as the official court reporter for District Court Judges, Associate Court Judges, or Juvenile Court Judges, as needed.Takes court testimony and proceedings by shorthand reporting methods.Reads back court testimony and proceedings upon request.Makes verbatim typed records of such testimony and proceedings as required.Marks and records exhibits during court proceedings.Performs related work as determined by the supervising judicial officer or the chief judge or his/her designee.Specific primary assignment(s) as designated by District Court Administrator.
