Sanction fee to be paid for the Ski Orienteering World Cup organising rights

In accordance with the Competition Rules for IOF Ski Orienteering Events, the IOF Council has taken the decision to impose a levy on the event. This compulsory fee shall be paid to the IOF to obtain the organising rights for the event. The fee applicable to the 2017-2018 Ski Orienteering World Cup is 4,000 EUR. The fee is applied to a series of World Cup events held in the same country, not to each competition.

The IOF sanction fee shall be paid by the due date. An interest of 10 % will be added to all sanction fees that remain unpaid after this date. The IOF Council also reserves the right to impose restrictions on the IOF membership privileges of the respective national federation (e.g. the right to organise IOF events or to enter teams to IOF competitions) should the sanction fee not be paid.Questions related to the payment of the sanction fee can be addressed to the IOF Office.

Anti-Doping costs

The IOF is currently reviewing its method for funding the important anti-doping work to be carried out. A decision on a new method of funding is expected to be reached and will be valid from December 1, 2015. The applicant should be aware that this funding method if approved, will apply to the event.

Until that point in time the organiser shall be prepared to carry the cost of any in-competition doping tests ordered by the IOF. The IOF will contact the organiser 6 months in advance of the event to inform the organiser of any doping tests to be carried out. For further information about the costs of anti-doping testing in your country, please contact your national anti-doping body.

Other costs

As the governing body of the sport, the IOF is entitled to carry out its business at the event without compensation to the organising federation; it includes meetings and seminars, co-operation with IOF’s sponsors, raising the IOF’s profile through its presence at essential activities such as by an exposition in a booth or similar at the main event centre, and at the competition centres in centrally located promotional tents.

IOF Eventor

The new IOF Event Management Service IOF Eventor was launched in late 2014. IOF Eventor is a free service to all IOF event organisers and the system includes functionality such as the collecting of entries, accommodation and services bookings, and the publication of event information, start and result lists. It is mandatory for all IOF major event organisers to manage their event through IOF Eventor.

GPS tracking

The ownership of GPS tracking data from IOF Events lies with the IOF. Live GPS tracking from all competitions will be shown on the IOF LiveCenter platform. Should the organiser wish to provide GPS tracking also via other channels, it is possible to negotiate a contract with the IOF. Organisers are required to provide GPS tracking devices to all participating athletes. The organiser must use technology for GPS tracking which is supported by IOF LiveCenter.

The application must be accompanied by the following enclosures:

  • Overview map showing the event centre, accommodation sites, competition areas, airports, railway station, and main roads.
  • If ski, foot or MTB orienteering maps of the planned competition areas exist, the latest edition of each map.
  • If the planned competition areas are not covered by any orienteering maps, the best available map of the areas together with a ski orienteering map of a similar terrain.
  • Maps of the areas to be embargoed.

ALL FILLED-IN FORMS AND MAPS WILL BE HANDLED STRICTLY CONFIDENTIALLY.

The application and the appropriate attachments must reach the IOF Office () by 31 August2015.
