The ninth annual user group meeting will provide detailed training to users of the SurvCADD Mining Modules. Attendees will have full opportunity to interact with the entire mining division of Carlson Software, including the programmers, trainers and support team. New features, modules and programs will be presented. Monday is an optional day of basic Geology training. Anyone who would like to start with a day of SurvCADD Geology 101 is welcome before the seminar starts. Training on topics of your choosing will be held for the remainder of the session. Please submit any topics you would like to cover on the registration form.
Preliminary Schedule: (subject to change)
- Monday (optional): Geology 101. Importing drillholes, grid and block modeling, outcrops, limit lines, reserves and sections.
- Tuesday: See all the new features of the next release. Advanced Geology. Reserves, Natural Regrade.
- Wednesday: Mine Timing and Planning (both surface and underground). Range Diagrams. GIS for mining
Who should attend?Geologists, Engineers and Surveyors who currently use, or plan to use the SurvCADD Mining Modules will benefit. In particular, those who are engaged in data collection, drillhole geology, geologic modeling, reserve studies, blasting, GPS machine control, range diagramming and both underground and surface timing with equipment from longwalls to draglines.
What to bring?Attendees are encouraged to bring laptops with their software and data loaded. Users can bring examples of challenging scenarios or that present problems needing to be addressed by Carlson Software staff. Any questions or suggestions on new features will be addressed at this meeting.
Cost: Registration is $500 per person, $750 if attending the Geology 101 class. Please make checks payable to Carlson Software, or use a credit card. The entry fee includes 2 or 3 days of training, presentations and discussions, lunch and refreshments at the breaks.
A block of rooms has been set-aside for you to reserve at the Spearfish Canyon Lodge. The lodge offers a relaxed atmosphere with rooms for about $55 a night.
