Invitation to submit written representations and evidence to the School Teachers’ Review Body (STRB)
Your organisation is invited to submit written representations and evidence to STRB on a range of matters in relation to teachers’ pay and conditions referred toSTRB by the Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families in the enclosed letter.STRB has been asked to report on some matters (itemsato fin the Secretary of State’s letter)by 23 January 2009 and on further matters (item g)by12 June 2009.
If you wish to submit representations and evidence to STRB on the first set of matters, please do so by5 September 2008.If for exceptional reasons you will not be able to meet this deadline, please contact us. There is no guarantee that requests for STRB to consider late submissions will be accepted.
Guidance from OME about submitting written representations and evidence to STRB is enclosed. Please note in particular the arrangements for submission of representations and evidence and circulation to other consultees (paragraphs 8-11).
STRB will invite consultees to submit representations and evidence on the second set of matters(item g) in due course. We will contact you about the deadline for submissions on these matters once this has been agreed.
STRB might additionally ask some consultees to respond in writing to questions, comment on others’ proposals or make oral representations. In such cases, we will be in touch.
In its work STRB draws on relevant information, for example on the context for teachers’ pay and conditions and reward practice, and evidence, including statistical and economic data. If you would like to alert us to sources of evidence, please contact me.
