Invitation for an international youth conference in Bratislava
11th – 14th August 2014
For all the alumni of the US Department of State Youth Programs
ID Space Team together with the Youth Parliament in Bratislava is calling 15 youth leaders (18 – 24 years old) from all the European Union countries to participate in a four-day international meeting! “Young Leaders for Tomorrow’s Europe” (YLTE) will take place between the 11th and the 14th August, 2014 in Bratislava, Slovakia with the support of the Embassy of the United States in Bratislava and Bratislava City Council.
The meeting welcomes youths with a wealth of experience in Youth NGOs and Voluntary Organisations, or with experience in youth activism and active citizenship and having a keen interest in international affairs. The conference aims to tackle to themes: youth empowerment and youths on the world stage. Participants will develop the skills needed to positively impact their community such as leadership, public speaking, speech writing and debating. These tools will also be utilised in the second part of the conference which will give participants the opportunity to simulate international crises.
Finally, it is our hope that the conference will provide the right environment for alumni of the US Department of State Youth Programsto think and plan projects for their own communities and to learn from each others’ experiences in order to take the lead back home once the conference is over.
Participation:
Please fill in the application form and send it in before the 27h April 2014 23:59. We will inform you about the results of the selection of participants on 10th May.
Costs:
The conference is funded under the Embassy of the United States of America and Bratislava City Council. All costs regarding travel and accommodation together with breakfast will be reimbursed for all the selected participants.

Submitting your application package:
You need to send your application package by email to ith the email subject line in this format ,,COUNTRY_LAST NAME_NAME_YLTE_2014‘‘. Please send only one email with all attachments. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed and considered. Application packages sent by fax, regular mail or express mail will not be accepted.
Application deadline:
Your complete application package must reach the organizers of the Young Leaders for Tomorrow’s Europe program by 23:59 on 27th April, 2014 at the very latest. Application packages received after this deadline will not be considered.
Feedback process:
All applications will be reviewed by the organizing committee by the 10th May 2014. The selected participants will be contacted and informed about the next steps in logistical arrangements. Participants who are not chosen will also be contacted.
Please be fair: Notification of cancellation must be made in writing and sent to the organizers by email as soon as possible, allowing the “alternate” candidates to substitute.
