RESOLUTION NO. 27-2013
INTRODUCED BY: MAYOR AND COUNCIL AS A WHOLE
A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE OLMSTED FALLS GARDEN CLUB ON THEIR 25TH ANNIVERSARY.
WHEREAS, The Olmsted Falls Garden Club was formed in May 1988 with the purpose of enhancing and preserving the beauty of Olmsted Falls and surrounding areas, and to actively seek knowledge and experience in gardens with annuals, perennials and herbs and to communicate these skills and art forms to others; and
WHEREAS, The Olmsted Falls Garden Club has built and maintained public gardens at the Jenkins Center, City Hall, East River Park and the Village Green; and
WHEREAS, The Olmsted Falls Garden Club has provided educational materials and support for young students in the Olmsted Falls Public School System and St. Mary of the Falls Parochial School; and
WHEREAS, The Olmsted Falls Garden Club yearly provides a new book on gardening to the Olmsted Falls Public Library in order to provide information to the general public; and
WHEREAS, The Olmsted Falls Garden Club provides living green swages for all city buildings to commemorate the Christmas season; and
WHEREAS, The Olmsted Falls Garden Club shares gift plants with the general public during the Club’s annual Plant Sale in May each year. Now therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OLMSTED FALLS, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, OHIO, THAT:
SECTION 1. The Mayor and Council do congratulate the Olmsted Falls Garden Club on the anniversary of their founding.
SECTION 2. The Mayor and Council on behalf of all residents of the City of Olmsted Falls do commend the individual members of the Garden Club for the dedication to their original principal purposes and for their outstanding floral contributions to the beauty of the City of Olmsted Falls.
SECTION 3.Council finds and determines that all formal actions of this Council relating to the adoption of this Resolution have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and that deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such formal action, took place in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all statutory requirements including the requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code.
SECTION 4. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after the earliest time allowed by law.
