Interview with Robin Van Persie

What did it feel like when you first arrived in north London?

It felt unusual and I was really nervous from being away from home in Netherlands.

What was it like to score your first goal for Arsenal?

It was unbelievable and couldn’t believe the atmosphere at Highbury. It was a nice finish and everybody cheered.

How hard or easy was it learning a new language?

It was really hard I couldn’t get the grips of it. Then it got easier and I can speak a lot of English now.

What was it like when your strike partner Thierry Henry left?

It was very hard to lose him, he was one of the best strikers in the premier league and it was sad.

Do you have to kick with both feet to be a good footballer?

If you’re a striker you do have to use both feet but if you’re a winger or a wingback you don’t really.

Why do you call your right leg chocolate?

I call my right leg chocolate because its nowhere near as strong as my left.

Who is your best mate in Arsenal?

I don’t really have any best mate there all my friends but Fabregas is one of my closest friends.

What do you do when you don’t play football?

I sit in the house playing my play station or go out shopping with my girlfriend.

Who do you think is the best player at Arsenal?

Obviously me! Lol I think Fabregas and Arshavin have equal ability, for me I would say Fabregas.

Is it good being a professional?

Its good and bad because you can get some bad injures but at the same time its good because its only a game and a bit of fun.

Interview with Cristiano Ronaldo

How did it feel winning World Player of the year 2009?

It felt fantastic after Pele gave it to me, I was in tears. It felt so great knowing I’m the best player in the world.

How was it you think you moved to the biggest club in the world only at the age of 18?

It felt surprising, because you know Sir Alex only buys quality players and knowing he bought me at that age for £12.24million is just fantastic memory to keep.

Do you hope people will like your autobiography “Moments”?

Yes, I do. It has not been published long, only just over a year, but I hope most people will like it. I think it tells everyone all about me and people who find interest in me will like it.

Has “CR7” been doing really well?

Yes, it has. The one in Lisbon is doing better that the one in Madeira but they are both doing well. Me and my sister both split the profits, since we’re both owners. I try to give my sister more since I have more money from playing football, but she won’t take it.

How was it you survived that horrible car crash?

Just lucky, I guess. The car sort of swerved, then I hit the wall. I got out, I just started smiling. We were going to training and Edwin just came behind me, I just hopped in his car and away we went.

What was it like, everyone hating you after you got Wayne Rooney sent off in the 2006 World Cup?

It felt horrible. No one would get off my back. I got threats and everything, though I still played my football and got everyone to like me again by helping us win the league.

How does it feel knowing you have all those trophies to your name and your club?

It feels strange, confusing about individual and not surprising about the club. Man United is the best club in the world and we’re bound to win trophies like we’re going for the Quintuple this season, but it’s surprising for things like getting picked for the Olympic team when I was 19, but I grew up to be worthy of that.

Do you think you’ll be at United for along time?

Yes, I hope so. If so Ferguson wants to sell me, I’ll go. But I want to spend my football career at Old Trafford faithfully. I hope I can stay at United for many years.

What do you think lies ahead?

Hopefully, lots of good things. Like maybe a good few trophies a lot of goals and most importantly, lots of chances to put on the red shirt.

Our trip to the Odyssey

It was Friday 27th February 2009 and we were going to see Belfast Giants playing Basingstoke Bison. My Nanny came to pick me up from school. When I got home I picked the clothes I was wearing and had my dinner. I wore jeans and a green and black top. After that I went outside to play with my friends Chloe and Aimee. Chloe did not go because she’s in P5, Aimee did go. After that I went to the Odyssey, there was some traffic I was so excited. When I got to the Odyssey I met my teacher Mr Armstrong, he told me to go inside. Inside I met my friends they were all excited too. We were all showing each other our phones. We waited for more people coming then started to make our way to the game.

We went to the stadium and got our seats. I was sitting beside Fionualla and Caitriona (also called Kitty!). The game started, it showed you pictures of them on the TV. Then these kids, the mascots, came out, they were followed by the Giants. They all started, limbering up and stretching. The match started. In the 1st period it was 2-1, then we got to go to the shops (it was robbery) it was so dear. I got coke which was £2.00 and Fruit Pastilles which were £5.00. 2nd period ended with a shocker 3-1. After that we went and got hockey pucks which were $2.00. On 3rd period it ended at, 5-3. at the end Subs were fired out of a cannon and someone dressed as a Sub came around the crowd. Then the Ape started dancing. It was great fun.

I really enjoyed the trip. If I was given another opportunity I would definitely go. I really enjoyed the Ape. I enjoyed being with my friends for our last big trip. Go on Giants!!
