Internship Program Application Instructions (Revised version 4-5-18)

Program description:

The Clatsop WORKS program was developed to provide local youth, ages 16 and up, with exposure to professional paidinternship opportunities in Clatsop County, with the goals of community building, economic development, promoting local opportunities and retaining local talent.

Paid internships will be during the summer of 2018, and will last from 8-10 weeks, depending on your employer.

Goals of the program for interns:

  • Build job application, resume and interview skills
  • Develop work ethic and professionalism
  • Prepare interns with career readiness and technical skills
  • Introduce interns to local opportunities and retain their talent in Clatsop County

Important Information for applicants:

  • Submission of this application does not guarantee you an internship
  • Upon receiving your application, the Clatsop WORKS committee will select applicants to move forward in the program
  • Applicants will be notified of the committee’s decision via email
  • Selected applicants’ applications will then be forwarded to our host employers
  • Host employers will reach out directlyto schedule interviews
  • The host employers will require you to participate in their standard hiring procedures, including their application and interview processes

  • Submit a resume
  • Submit a cover letter (Optional)

  • All applications due on May 2, 2018
