MASTER THESIS IN A COMPANY AGREEMENT

THE PARTIES

(hereunder stated in abbreviation as UCL)

AGREEMENT

  1. Objective of thisagreement

The Company……. welcomes the student, designated as the student, to do an master thesis in a company, which objective is described in paragraph 3 hereunder.

The present agreementdefines the relationship between the parties as well as their respective rights and obligations in the context of the organisation of the internship.

  1. Duration

The internship will start on ……………….. and end on ……………….. .

  1. Objective of the internship

Describe as precisely as possible the objective of the internship and the goal aimed at.

  1. Identification of the UCL supervisor and of the home institution co-ordinator:

Within the Company, the Student will be supervised by TITLE, FIRST NAME, LAST NAME,as Internship Supervisor. The student will refer to him/her for all practical, technical or regulation matters which will be necessary for the smooth running of the internship, by the terms of the present agreement.

Professor …………… from the EPL, will be the academic tutor of the internship. Any query related to its implementation will be negotiated with him or her.

  1. Insurance

The UCLcommits itself to cover, by the “civil liability” and “bodily accidents” contracts that it has signed, all the risks run by the Student during the implementation of and on the way to his/her internship from his/her home address or regular residency during the internship.

In case of an accident, the Company commits to inform as soon as possible the Insurance Department of UCL, place de l’Université 1 à 1348 Louvain-la-Neuve (tél 010/47.38.68 – Fax 010/47.38.69).

  1. Health checks

In conformity with Article 6 § 1 of the Royal Decree of 21 September 2004 concerning the protection of students, UCL will ensure that health checks are carried out on the basis of a risk analysis carried out by the company.

  1. Confidentiality

The Student recognizes that, unless there is written evidence to the contrary, all pieces of information (documents, know-how, research projects, other projects, etc.) to which he / she either directly or indirectly has access to in the execution of tasks that he / she will be entrusted with in the framework of the internship, are defined as confidential.

In no case, neither during the internship nor after it, will theStudent disclose its contents, under any form, whatever the nature of this information may be, or use it for his / her own benefit or for a third party.

Those pieces of information are not considered confidential when they are already public knowledge, when the Student can prove that they were in his / her possession before their publication by The Company, or when the Student obtained these pieces of information from a third party free of anyconfidentiality agreement withThe Company.

  1. Status

The Student and The Companyare not bound by any employment contract in the sense of the Belgian law. The Student will remain a student enrolled at the UCL during the time of his / her internship.

  1. Respect of rules in force

The Student commits to abide the rules in force at The Company – including the rules regarding the ownership, protection and development of the research results performed at The Company – as well as to the guidelines concerning the organisation of the training program which will be given to him or her by those responsible.

  1. Termination

If one of the parties does not comply with its obligations, if the Student misbehaves or in case of unjustified absenteeism, the other party may terminate the contract, with immediate effect, as a result of a formal demand issued to the defaulting party and not respected within a period of 8 days.

  1. Jurisdiction and applicable legislation

The present contract is subject to Belgian legislation. In the case of the absence of an amicable agreement, only the tribunals of Nivelles (Belgium) will be able to rule on any litigation which may come up in the implementation and/or the interpretation of the present contract.

This agreement is drawn up in three original copies, each party acknowledging they have received their own copy.
