Job Title:Support Planning & Direct Payments Manager

EXPERIENCE / Significant experience in a supervisory OR management role within a social care or social welfare/welfare to work or business (supporting people with disabilities) environment
Experience of managing services or dealing with clients/customers across dispersed locations
Experience of setting up services & ensuring services are focused on the aspirations, needs & wants of customers
Knowledge and understanding of contract compliance, review and monitoring systems
Budget Management with Profit & Loss Account Responsibilities
Experience of recruiting staff and matching skills/abilities and people to roles staff and developing a team in line with the objectives of the organisation
Demonstrate experience of coordinating complex tasks.
Experience including developing, managing and maintaining systems relating to policies and procedures
Experience of working with individuals with disabilities and older people / E

Ability to support and work to the strategic development and planning for I-Decide
Ability to capture and understand service issues from effective monitoring (i.e. financial, quality, 1:1’s etc.) and take appropriate & timely actions
Ability to manage own time, to work independently and manage a small team of staff
Be a skilled people person who can develop and maintain excellent working relationships with both staff & customers alike
Sensitive and understanding and approach to the needs of people with disabilities
Have the ability to produce clear and concise written documents (e.g. reports, business proposals and client assessments) with relevancy and written appropriately for the reader/recipient.

EDUCATION/
QUALIFICATIONS/
KNOWLEDGE / Hold a relevant professional qualification OR equivalent by experience in a social care, welfare to work or care./support planning
HNC (Management) NVQ L4 (Management) or equivalent management qualification.
Hold a relevant professional qualification Or equivalent by experience in social care, welfare to work or care/support planning
Have a sound understanding of business practices including people practices and managing budgets, use of technology
A demonstrable personal commitment to & knowledge of the personalisation agenda within social care
Ability to work in a fast paced environment
Have a good understanding of the policy drivers within Health & Social Care services.
Understanding of relevant legislation and policy
Knowledge of the payment methods of Personal Budgets, including the use of e-cards
Knowledge of Local Authority returns procedures monitoring requirements and financial charges
Knowledge of employment legislation and related insurances
