III. COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course will focus on Internet activities and web page design. This course will include getting students comfortable with the menus, toolbar and directory buttons. Students will access information on various topics, using search engines in the World Wide Web, as well as being exposed to other areas of the Internet.. A unit is also included on the importance of netiquette and Internet copyright issues. The second part of this course will include the creation of web pages. Students will be introduced to the basic concepts of web page development. Various styles and techniques for creating web pages will be presented, including good design techniques and basic HTML code. The Adobe CS5 software package will be used.

V. COURSE AS VIEWED IN THE CONTEXT OF THE CURRICULUM
After completion of this course, students will be able to: design and produce high-quality and error-free web pages. They will apply these skills in cross-curriculum applications by producing web pages for various class projects and by developing and maintaining the USD 268 website.
VI. ASSESSMENT OF OUTCOMES
1. Projects & Homework: This class will be project-focused. Projects are expected to be turned in on time. Letter grades will be negatively impacted if projects are late. If you are absent from class, you will be responsible for getting your project completed and turned in within the time constraints set by the teacher.
2. Exams: Exams will be given as scheduled by the instructor.
3. Quizzes: Quizzes may be given periodically, both announced and unannounced.
VII. GRADING
Grades will be weighted using the following scale:
Projects & Homework 75%
Quizzes 15%
Final 10%
Letter grades will be assigned for the course using the following scale.
90 – 100 A
80 – 89 B
70 – 79 C
60 – 69 D
VIII. ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS
Attendance in class is the student’s responsibility. Successful completion of this course will require the student’s regular attendance and attention. Tardiness will be dealt with according to rules in the student handbook. The teacher reserves the right to mandate attendance at Saturday School to any student who is absent from class excessively or does not meet the standards of the course.
