______

* 8 appointed by the Director of International Education – Are there any more appointed

by Director of International education?

Does this reflect your intentions for the membership of this committee?

YES

Can a single member satisfy more than one of the listed members above? If so, will a

majority of the committee be appointed and not elected? If so, what’s the point of

electing anyone?

NO A SINGLE MEMBER CANNOT SATISFY MORE THAN ONE SLOT EXCEPT FOR THOSE APPOINTED BY THE DIRECTOR OF INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION

How are the members of the Certificate Program selected?

DEAN OF THE COLLEGE OF LIBERAL ARTS

Is there a difference between someone being “provided by” vs. “nominated by” the

director of international education? If not, determine what wording is best and use it

throughout. If so, please explain.

PROVIDED BY MEANS THE INFORMATION IS GIVEN TO THE SENATE

NOMIATED BY MEANS A SUGGESTION IS BEING GIVEN TO THE SENATE

In the opinion of the committee, the representatives for the certificates, councils and Georgia Consortium should be on the committee because of their duties. As faculty they should be voting members. The Director of Intl Studies "PROVIDES THEIR NAMES" because they are administrative appointees and they are not elected to the committee. By their positions they are automatically on the committee. These are faculty and not administrators. The Director just makes it easier on the senate by letting them know who these people are.

WE PREFER THE STUDENT MEMBER BE NOMINATED, NOT APPOINTED TO THE COMMITTEE, BUT IF THAT IS THE LANGUAGE GOING INTO EVERY OTHER COMMITTEE, WE WILL ACCEPT IT.
