International Motorcycle Race Event Brings Excitement Andspotlights the Isle of Samsoe

International motorcycle race event brings excitement andspotlights the Isle of Samsoe.

The beautiful Danish islands don’t always get the attention they deserve, but now, there is good news for Samsoe. The local council approved plans for a top class international motorcycle sport and cultural event, that hopes to attract up to 10.000 visitors to the island. Giving both Samsoe and Denmark its first Motorcycle Road Race event.

After years of planning, it now looks like the dream of this motorcycle event is about to come true for the island of Samsoe.

The inspiration comes from the ultimate road race, the Isle of Man TT races, which has been held for more than 100 years. The Danish event will be a little smaller, to fit the locality of Samsoe and will try to promote the islands rising success in qualityfood production and renewable energy.

The Mayor of Samsoe council, Marcel Meijer (S) said, after the council approved plans for the Isle of Samsoe event. “I am pleased the initiativegroup behind this project has chosen our beautiful island of Samsoe and look forward to working with them. We hope that the ‘Isle of Samsoe’ becomes a popular attraction for both visitors and the local businesses and population.”

The initiative group behind the project emphasizes that the event will involve the many local food producers in cooperation with skilled chefs, restaurants and food establishments. In addition, the racing, which will includeelectric motorcycles, modern superbikes and classics, will all use electric vehicles for transport of equipment and riders.Giving the event a three-prong diversity oflocal food industry, sustainable energy transport and a unique international sporting event.

Frank Kristensen, president of Samsoe Tourist and Trade Association said,

“This is an extremely positive gain for the whole of Samsoe. With the extra focus and expected visitor numbers, it is certain that local food producers, accommodation, restaurants and shops can look forward to the event. We are looking forward to an event that is so diverse and can bring entertainment and benefits to many groups here on the island where we have a lot of exciting things but also need more events that promoteeverything we have worked so hard together to achieve.”

One of the people who is mostexcited about the approval of the plans for the Isle of Samsoe event, is Gorm Reedtz, leader of the initiative group that will now become the company behind the event. Who also has a working relationship with the Danish Motor Union who have provisionally approved the route of the race course to be used for the seven-day event.

Gorm Reedtz says;

” It’s a dream come true for a lot of people. It’s going to be a fantastic event, where the actual road race will be something to see. We’re talking about the worlds best men and machines coming here to Samsoe.

We have got the best people in Denmark to make sure that the event can be held safely for both the visitors and the environment, so everyone can enjoy themselves. Road racing is a fascinating and thrilling sport for all the family. We are expecting many international visitors who will be able to sample all the delights that Samsoe has to offer throughout the week.”
