Kolbe expands VistaLuxe Collection
with corner direct set windows
Wausau, Wisconsin (Nov. 2014) –Kolbe continues to growits VistaLuxe® Collection with the introduction of new direct set window units that expandcorners to provide a view in multiple directions. Collaboratively developed with architects, the VistaLuxe Collection’s contemporary designs utilize multiple units to create large expanses of glass. Minimal frames and sash optimize daylight openings and maximize viewing areas, while maintaining energy efficiency.
Kolbe’s VistaLuxe Collection includes casements, awnings, direct set windows, inswing and outswing doors and matching transoms, geometric shapes, complementary multi-slide doors, folding windows and doors,and now, new corner window units.
“The VistaLuxe Collection was created in response to and with the help of architects. We saw a need for something new in the marketplace and dedicated the resources to customize a new product line that is a perfect balance of cleanlines, symmetry and sightlines, delivered by the narrowest of frames,” says Cindy Bremer, Kolbe’s vice president of marketing. “Our culture of innovation means we are continually adding to this product collection to provide even more solutionsto address market needs.”
She adds, “We are seeing an increased demand for corner windows as homeowners seek to truly enjoy their views by opening up their homes with corner views, large expanses of glass and reduced visible frames. For larger windowsizes, we also can ship the units for field assembly and glazing.”
The VistaLuxe Collection’s new corner windows can be mulled together with other units to create configurations that meet each project’s unique design.Accentuating this customized approach, exterior profiles are offered in Flush, Accent and Accent Plus styles. The frame nosing, sash face, glass and stops always remain in the same plane across product types within a style choice. A range of glass selections, including triple pane glass for higher energy efficiency, assists in addressing different climate zones and performance needs.
The VistaLuxe Collection products showcase a warm, wood interior with a selection that includes sustainably harvested species. For units that are ready to install upon delivery, the wood can be prefinished with water-based stains or paints. On the exterior, the extruded aluminum may be painted in standard, custom and new mica colors, and all are backed with a 30-year finish warranty. Durable anodize finishes also are available in metallic tones.Optional performance divided lites or grilles-in-the-airspace can be specified for a customized look, finished to match inside and out.
Design teams can easily communicate and visually customize dimensions and functionality for the VistaLuxe Collection’s products using Kolbe’s 3-D Revit® building information models (BIM). In addition to BIM tools, the website offers 2-D drawings; air, water, structural and thermal reports; warranties, installation and maintenance information, and online videos to demonstrate product operation and performance testing.
