Black Belt Testing Requirements

As of 08-17-2016 these requirements are in place for anyone intending to test for Black Belt

(Recommended or Decided)

01. Any student intending to test for Black Belt or a higher rank Black Belt must ask for permission to test at least one month prior to the intended test date. Having the rank of Red Belt decided or time in rank for a higher level Black Belt does not entitle a student to test.

02. Any student intending to test for Black Belt or a new rank as a Black Belt must pass the ATA fitness test prior to the test date.

03. Any student intending to test for Black Belt or a new rank as a Black Belt must attend the Black Belt Training and Breakfast the Saturday before testing. This will consist on a 90-minute workout followed by a Breakfast.

04. Any student intending to test for Black Belt or a new rank as a Black Belt must turn in a one page double spaced term paper on the subject of “What being a Black Belt Means to me”. This is due two weeks prior to the intended test date.

05. Any student intending to test for Black Belt or a new rank of Black Belt may not miss more than 10% of the classes scheduled in the testing cycle prior to the test date.

06. Any student intending to test for Black Belt or a new rank as a Black Belt must turn in paperwork in a timely fashion. No late forms will be accepted under any circumstances.

07. Any student intending to test for Black Belt or a new rank as a Black Belt must use the Black Belt Testing requirements check list in order to track requirements. This sheet must be turned in with the testing registration form.

08. Any student intending to test for Black Belt or a new rank as a Black Belt must be able to proficiently perform the Basics for all forms (stances, kicks, blocks, strikes) and document this on the basics checklist

09. Any student intending to test for Black Belt or a new rank as a Black Belt must complete the 14 page Written Exam and turn it in at the Black Belt Breakfast.

10. Black Belts may only test on a testing day. There will be NO special testing’s for Black Belts.

There will be NO exceptions to this policy.
