Special Purpose Faculty (2-year appointment) to be jointly appointed between the Human Resource Development & Performance Technologies (HRDPT) and the Electronics & Computer Engineering Technology (ECET) Departments in the College of Technology.

Teaching lower division undergraduate laboratory-centered Information Technology courses, upper-division Information Technology courses with emphasis in Digital Communication, and lower division undergraduate laboratory-centered Electronics courses, as well as a range of courses in Textiles, Apparel, and Merchandising. Provide service to the Departments, College, and University in assessment, curriculum development, and advising for teaching areas.

Master's degree in Information Technology, Electronics Engineering Technology, Textiles, Apparel & Merchandising, or related fields preferred for this position.

Successful candidates should have a strong orientation to the training needs of business and industry. Evidence of strong communication skills and commitment to service and scholarly activity are required. Preference given to applicants with a strong background in distance education and working with undergraduate students.

Both Industrial experience and college teaching experience are highly desirable. Primary consideration is a level of competency consistent with the instructional demand of Information Technology / Electronics / Digital Communication at the baccalaureate level.

THE UNIVERSITY: Indiana State University enrolls approximately 11,000 undergraduate and graduate students in the Colleges of Arts and Science, Business, Education, Health and Human Performance, Nursing, Technology and the School of Graduate Studies. The University is located in Terre Haute, Indiana, which is only one hour from Indianapolis, three hours from Chicago, and has reasonable real estate prices. Terre Haute has an approximate population of 60,000 and four institutions of higher education.

THE COLLEGE & DEPARTMENT: The College of Technology is located in two facilities including the $18.7 million John T. Myers Advance Technology Center with over 20 state-of-the-art laboratories. The college is composed of three departments offering 16 undergraduate degrees, 5 master's degrees, and the Ph.D. in Technology Management. The Construction Management program in Technology Management Department has an average of 150 undergraduate students. The CM Program has a long tradition of placing all graduates in the construction industry. Active student organizations provide opportunities for leadership and fellowship.
