Instructions for your New Amplifier

To turn on your amplifier, turn the volume knob in a clockwise rotation. You may notice that it does not turn ON after the first click of the volume knob. This is the because of how the internal voltage boost circuit functions. There is an internal capacitor that must be “charged” after the first “click” and a subsequent turn (“click”) is needed to get the voltage boosting circuit to turn on. Do not worry if the amplifier needs an extra click to get going, this is completely normal and once the internal capacitor is charged your amplifier will turn on. So, to turn on your amplifier, click on, click off, then click on again.

The input and output jacks are labeled “I” and “O.” There is one switch between the jacks which is the gain switch. In the up position you have a gain of seven and in the down position you have a gain of two.

The amplifier will run for 4 hours on a full charge.

Charging

The amplifier has an internal Lithium Ion battery that is rated for 500 charges. Only use the charger that came with your amplifier to charge your amplifier. This is a high power charger capable of supplying the current needed to quickly charge the battery. Using the incorrect charger is dangerous. The battery will fully charge between 2.5 to 3 hours. The back Red LED charging indicator will be fully lit when charging and start to blink near the end of the charging cycle. It will turn off when the charging cycle is complete.

I recommend that you charge your amplifier when the amplifier is turned off. This will allow your battery to fully charge. The internal battery may not get a full charge when the amplifier is powered on. You can use the external charger while the amplifier is on but the battery may not fully charge during this time.

Ventilation

Your amplifier has been designed as a high current amplifier and proper ventilation helps keep the amplifier running cool. The LT1210 buffer in the power supply normally runs warm and the external case helps dissipitate this heat. Keep an eye on the amplifier while in use and if you feel it’s not getting enough ventilation you will feel that it may be running warmer than usual. Keeping the case where it can get some ventilation will help cool it down. This is normal operation for this amplifier.
