Instructions for Visa Procedures and Travel Information

Thank you for choosing Middle East International Tours to assist you with your travel and visa requirements. Below is useful information regarding the process and the documentationwe need. We look forward to working with you!

Visa Procedures

At least six(6) weeks prior to your travel plan, please send a copy of the following via e-mail at

  • A scanned copy of the information page of your passport
  • Travel details (the airline, flight number, and arrival date and time)You should buy aticket after the visa is issued or buy a refundable ticket in case the visa is not approved on time.
  • Local Contact Person (phone and email).
  • A wire transfer of $290 USD (Non-refundable) or the same amount paid to our office by your representative. Please send us also the copy of money order from the bank. The Sudanese Equivalent will be calculate at a rate slightly higher than the market rate.

**The process will not begin until we have confirmation from our bank that the money has arrived.

Visa upon arrival at Khartoum International Airport

We must submit your application inKhartoum.

When the government office issuesus your Entry Permit(Counter Visa), we will send you this permit through email.We suggest that you make several copies of the permit and keep them on-hand as you travel in case you are asked for them.

Your Entry Permit will be valid for one month from date of issue; it will be registered with the airline so that your travel will be permitted. This means that you are granted one month to enter the country. Upon arrival, you will be granted one month’s stay in Sudan. For longer stay, you need to extend your visa before the one month stay expired.

Special note: You are prohibited by Sudanese law to travel to Dar Fur on this visa. Please do not make any plans to travel there. Any such transactions must take place through official channels and through a representative of an approved NGO. MEIT can not support you if you choose to ignore these rules.

Bring with you at least four (4) passport photos to be used for various permits upon arrival.We will leave your original Entry Permit with your contact person or to the immigration office at the airport prior your arrival and they will process your procedures. If you want our representativeto meet you at the airportto process your paperwork, an extra payment of US$25 will be required.

*IMPORTANT NOTE: If your itinerary CHANGES, Please inform us IMMEDIATELY. If your plane is DELAYED while en route to KHARTOUM, WE will make every effort to ascertain the new time of arrival. IF we are not able to ascertain your time of arrival from the airport, we will leave the original entry permit WITH IMMIGRATION at the airport. YOU SHOULD APPROACH AN OFFICER AND TELL THEM THAT YOU HAVE A “COUNTER VISA” FROM “MIDDLE EAST INTERNATIONAL TOURS”. THEY WILL DIRECT YOU TO THE APPROPRIATE OFFICE.

35 NSG (you need to reserve local currency 35 NSG for this tax)

IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER

We will do our best to insure that you arrive on schedule. However, delaysat the various ministries often occur andare beyond our control. Therefore, we cannot take responsibility for delays caused by the various ministries or any expenses incurred by you as a result of these delays. Furthermore, we will not be able to refund any fees paid to us as we have to pay for all visa procedures in advance.

Travel/Arrival Information

Here is the information you shoulduse to fill out the immigration cards:

Type of Visa: Tourist

Address where you will be staying: Place here the address where you will be staying or write “Middle East International Tours” if you don’t know the address where you will be staying.

If the airline does not hand out cards on the plane, they may be obtained just inside the airport door of the arrival terminal.

After deplaning, each person will need to have their passport, Entry Card, one passport photo and $160 (for Americans) or $110 (for others) ready for completing the process.

Upon clearing Immigration, you will then collect your luggage. Luggage carts are available free of charge in the baggage claim area (baggage handlers will also be available to help, but will expect a tipfor doing so). After collecting your luggage, you will proceed out of the airport unless you have a white X marked on your bag. In this case, you will need to report to a customs official to search your bag. He will put a sticker on your bag when it is cleared and you will proceed out. On your way out, another officer will check for the sticker and mark it with a pen.

Foreign Exchange

The basic unit of currency in the Sudan is the New Sudanese Pound(NSG). Rates vary depending on the exchange of the day. It is currently about 2 pounds to the dollar.

There are no international ATM machines in Sudan. Credit cards/debit cards and travelers checks are also not an option for use here. Please do not count on these options for your currency supply. You will need to bring all money needed during your stay in cash (U.S. Dollars or Euros) and exchange it here.

*Important Note: Please make sure all currency you bring with you arecrisp, clean, new bills. The airport and exchange places here will not accept bills that are old style or “used” looking.

**VERY IMPORTANT**

Due to the ever changing nature of the local environment, we are no longer able to offer any guarantee as to our prices. Because of many surprise price hikes implemented by the various ministries, please be advised that prices may change suddenly and without warning, we apologize for this, but it is a part of operating a business in the nation of Sudan. We will be forced to pass this expenses on to our customers.
