Instructions for the MS Program in Physiology CV:

The following pageshows a template CV with the headings that your CV should include and the order in which information should be noted.

It is understood that an applicant may not utilize every heading. For example, an applicant may not have taught as a teaching assistant or in a formal setting and so therefore does not have any items under “Teaching Experience.” In such a situation, the “Teaching Experience” heading can be deleted from the CV.

  • Tutoring for pay would be considered teaching experience.
  • Volunteer tutoring, at any level, would be considered Volunteer/Community service- Non-Health Care.

Education:

  • list ALL military, two and four year institutions attended and dates of attendance.

Standardized Test Scores – at least one is required (MCAT, DAT, PCAT, OAT, or GRE) for the application:

  • Include scores and dates for all tests you have taken.
  • If you took the GRE, include the scores for Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning and, if you took it, Analytical Writing.
  • If you took the MCAT or DAT, include total score and individual section scores.
  • Also include the date of the test(s).
  • If you took the MCAT or DAT multiple times, include the total score and individual section scores for each scored attempt.
  • Also include the date of each test.
  • If you are scheduled to take the MCAT, DAT, PCAT or OAT at a future date, please note that date.

All Experiences and Activities:

  • Should be listed in REVERSE CHRONOLOGICAL order: meaning that the most recent experience is listed first and the most distant experience is listed last.
  • Be as specific as possible about dates.
  • Don’t just put “2016.” If the experience lasted 3 months, name the months (i.e. Jan. – Mar., 2016). If the experience lasted a year, put the start and end months (Jan. – Dec., 2016).
  • Be as specific as possible about TOTAL time spent, especially for volunteering and shadowing. For example, if you spent 4 hours/day x 5 days with a doctor, then you should list “20 hours” as the time for that experience.
  • Follow the above information with a description of your duties.
