Using Prezi:
1. Double click anywhere to add text at any time. To change text size, click out of the text box and click the text once. The Zebra Tool will appear. Click and hold the second circle and move your mouse in to make it smaller and out to make it bigger. You can always change the size whenever you like.
2. To turn the text, click and hold the outer circle and move your mouse back and forth.
3. To move the text somewhere else, click and hold the middle circle and move it anywhere you would like.
4. To get additional options, like delete, click the plus sign on the outer circle.
5. To take the zebra off your text, click anywhere else away from it.
6. If you have a scroll on your mouse, this would make it easier to zoom in and out of your Prezi. But if you don’t, use the + and – zoom on the right side of the screen.
7. If you want to change the look of your Prezi, go to the top left hand corner and at the bottom of the Write circle it says Colors & Fonts. You can create your own theme or choose a template.
8. If you would like a frame around your text at anytime, go to the Write circle and on the right of it, click on the Frame circle and choose any frame you want. TIP: Hold down shift while drawing your frame to keep the aspect correct for using a projector.
9. If you would like to insert pictures from a file you have, click on the Insert circle and click on Load File.If you want to add arrows or lines or highlight, click on the Insert circle and click on Shapes .If you would like to load a video, click on Load File. We cannot watch Youtube videos at school so you will need to convert it using ZAMZAR (or another online converter) and then add it as a file.
10. When you have added all your information, you need to add paths so you can present your ideas in order. Click on Path and then Add and click on the order you want your text and pictures to be in.
11. When you have completed your paths, go to Show in the top left hand corner of the “Write” circle to preview your Prezi. Edit as necessary. TIP: To remove a path, drag the pathway to a blank part of the canvas and let go.
12. In the top right hand corner, click save and exit.
Publish and Present your Prezi
- To present your Prezilive from the web, exit editing mode.
- Click on Get Link underneath the Prezi preview window. Copy and paste the link into a browser.
- To download a version of your Prezi to present offline, exit editing mode and click the download button on the right side.
- Follow the instructions. Be sure to change the folder you are saving to if need be.
- The download will be a zipped folder. The files will need to be extracted.
- Open the folder and click the prezi.exe file. Windows will prompt you to extract the files. Follow the instructions.
- Then click on the prezi.exe file again. Your Prezi will play in Flash.
- When presenting, click on the Show menu and use the arrows at the bottom right to move along your path.
- The button next to those arrows will allow you to make the presentation full-screen.
