Instructions for applying for a Temporary Resident Visa at the Canadian Embassy in Riyadh

1.  Complete Application (see instructions below).

2.  Enclose a letter (sample below) explaining why you are applying from Canada, and when you will be sending your Passport to the Embassy Office.

3.  Send your application to a family member in Saudi Arabia and ask them to obtain payment from one of the following banks: Riyadh Bank, National Commercial Bank (NCB), or Saudi British Bank, and then courier your application and payment to the Canadian Embassy.

4.  When you arrive in Saudi Arabia, send your Passport to the Canadian Embassy along with a letter explaining that you have already submitted your application to renew your Entry Visa. Use of of the following designated service providers: ARAMEX or AL-FIFA. A prepaid return bill must be included.

COMPLETING APPLICATION:

1.  Download the Application Kit, read the Instruction Guide and complete the application: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/visa.asp

Completing the Application electronically is easier and reduces the risk of errors: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5257E.PDF When you have completed the application, click the “Validate” button at the top or bottom of the form. A fifth page with barcodes and a signature line will automatically be created. Print, sign and date the form. Place the barcode page on the top of your documents when submitting your application.

2.  Pay the Processing fee. Please refer to the fee schedule http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/saudi_arabia-arabie_saoudite/visas/fees-frais.aspx for the cost of a temporary resident visa and how to pay.

·  Letter of Enrolment and official transcripts of all studies since you have been in Canada.
